Instead of jeans and a T-shirt, opt for khakis or slacks and a button-up shirt. It may take you some time to get the correct fit for your clothing, but we think that saving money is worth having to try on clothing for a couple hours. In the fall and winter months, try finding a decently priced pea coat and top it all with a scarf and some faux leather gloves. You also want to make sure you get yourself a decent pair of black shoes or boots. They can be faux leather or real leather, but be careful if you are using faux leather as it has the tendency to wear out fairly quickly.

Believe it or not, another way to rock the sophisticated look is to change your hairstyle, facial hair, and to maybe even consider wearing a little bit of makeup. If you have perfect eyesight, grab a pair of glasses without any prescription. These are commonly referred to as hipster glasses. If you’re willing to wear makeup, you can use a bit of foundation to cover up any marks, bumps, or blemishes on your face. You can also use very light eyeliner to define your eyes, but do so in a way that makes it look natural. You may want to refer to some do-it-yourself websites and tutorials before you start trying to apply your own makeup. We don’t recommend you winging this one. The chances are it will backfire on you and can leave you feeling a little bit embarrassed.
